Total War: Three Kingdoms Mod Support is Live
The Creative Assembly’s Total War: Three Kingdoms has finally received mod support. In a
recent blog post, the developer noted that the modding tools were similar to previous games. It also revealed what aspects of the game could be modified and which could not.
Starting positions, battle maps, new character portraits, custom models and animations, and more can be modded. However, players will not be able to mod game code or create new prefabs and audio files. They also can’t alter campaign battle maps or campaign map hexes. Furthermore, there will be some curation in terms of which mods are allowed.
Essentially, if a mod is in violation of the game’s EULA, it won’t be allowed. “Please refrain from creating mods that are designed to provoke, intimidate, or antagonize other groups, reference other IP, or create content of a sexual nature,” said the developer.
Total War: Three Kingdoms has been out since May 23rd for PC. You can check out our official review
here. It’s been a massive success so far, becoming
the biggest Steam launch of 2019. More post-launch content is on the way
with Chapter Packs though you can pick up
the Reign of Blood DLC to add some gnarly gore effects to battles.
